Heath Bedal grew up in the landscape industry, with a family legacy that spans generations of landscape contractors. From a young age, he spent his summers at his father’s company, watering plants and pulling wire through trenches, which sparked his lifelong passion for the field.
Background
Heath’s early career saw him running crews and managing project estimates for his family business. However, his drive to explore new opportunities led him to the distribution side of the industry, where he worked for NorMac in Northern California while pursuing his college education. This experience eventually brought him to Southern California, where he joined Familian Irrigation (now Ferguson).
Recognizing an untapped potential for growth, Heath transitioned to the manufacturer’s representative side, eventually founding JPH Group. Through this venture, he successfully sold products for major lighting brands, including Unique, Kichler, and Focus. His innovative mindset helped him become an early advocate for LED technology, importing and selling replacement lamps as a modern alternative to traditional halogen fixtures.

Heath’s contributions extend beyond his entrepreneurial ventures. He has been deeply involved in the California Landscape Contractors Association (CLCA), serving in numerous leadership roles:
